The latest Newsletter for the Old bar Travel Club is out now!

Good morning everyone,

Sorry for getting the newsletter out so late. We have really hit the ground running after our tour to the Cape.

Thankyou to those of you that made it to the meeting yesterday in the rainy weather. It sure was different to our high 30’s that we have been enjoying.

Please find attached the October newsletter which was released at the Travel club meetings yesterday.

Please note that our end of year Travel club Christmas Party which is being held on Tues 3rd Dec at Club Forster is now open for bookings.  Full details about this event are within the newsletter. This is a lovely luncheon with all the travellers from both our clubs. Please feel free to bring a friend also. The more the merrier and it is a great way to introduce new people to the travel club and see haw much fun it is! These bookings must be made through the committee by calling Karen Nicholas on 0452 471 276 not through Tuncurry Coach Tours.

We also released some new shows for 2025. Hadestown, Annie, & Book of Mormon which received some great interest at the meeting. We also have 2 spots left for MJ the musical on Wed 14th May.

I know it seems so far away to book in for a show, but if you really want to see it then you have to book in early. Our shows fill up very quickly and are in very high demand. To secure your place on the shows, you will be required to pay a $100pp deposit to ensure you have a seat. We cannot hold a spot for you without a deposit.

If you have penciled your name on the list, then you will need to pay the deposit within 7 days or your name will be removed from the list to make it fair on the paying passengers.

The newest overnight tours that we just released are Norfolk Island which is a 10 day tour, cost includes transfers, pre and post accommodation in Syd, airfares and all touring in Norfolk.  Full itinerary is attached. This trip is already half full!

We also released our Savouring the Sapphire Coast tour which is a 7 day tour which is full drive tour showcasing the coastline from Gerringong to Eden. Full itinerary is attached. This trip is also half full!

OVERDUE PAYMENTS- Just a friendly reminder that if you are booked on overnight trip to Cirque Du Soleil your final payment was due on the 4th Oct and is now overdue. If you would still like to proceed with this booking, please call today to make your final payment to secure your room and tickets. 

If your re also booked on the Trial Bay tour, your final payment for this day trip is due no later than this week.

We look forward to see those of you that are booked on our Tocal Day trips coming up on the 16th Oct,  please make sure to locate your time of your departure  that are highlighted in the newsletter. If you have a friend that may like this day out we have 6 seats left for this wonderful day out.

Dear Members,

We have been informed overnight that a person has been arrested by Cybercrime Squad detectives and charged with blackmail in connection with the incident that has impacted the service provider. The National Cyber Security Coordinator has also released a statement, which can be accessed here.

Police investigations are ongoing and we are continuing to work with the impacted provider accordingly. We will provide a further update once we hear more.

We continue to ask you to remain alert to suspicious activity or communications, including any communications purporting to come from us. Please do not respond to or continue with any suspicious communication until you have taken steps to verify it is legitimate using trusted and reliable information.

Old Bar Beach Bowling Club Limited has recently been informed that one of our external service providers suffered a cyber security incident. Our internal IT systems have not been impacted.

The impacted provider supplied technology and services to assist us with our member sign-in process from January 2021 to October 2022. We no longer use this service provider.

We have been informed that data held by the provider has recently been taken and posted onto the internet. We understand that the provider has notified the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, and engaged with the Office of National Cyber Security, NSW Police and the Australian Federal Police of the incident.

We have commenced an investigation into the incident. We are working with the provider to identify the extent to which any data relating to Old Bar Beach Bowling Club Limited may be involved.

We will provide a further update as our investigations progress.

Our involvement with the Multi-club Superdraws are coming to an end, and in their place a Members Night will commence at Club West on a Thursday Night and Club Old Bar on a Wednesday Night.

Our New Members Nights will feature a Badge Draw Jackpot that is exclusively for our members, that starts at $1000 and Jackpots by $200 each week. There will also be a new PICK/SPIN/WIN promotion on these nights- for every $5 you spend at the bar or bistro, you will receive a ticket for the draw. If your name gets pulled out, spin the wheel and see what you win! This wheel will have its own cash Jackpot that will go up by $50 each week, plus lots of other great prizes.

Members Nights will commence at Club West on Thursday 1 February and Club Old Bar on Wednesday 28 February.
